Sharing style is beautiful. But with earrings, intention is essential. At Maison Tierry, we believe jewelry carries more than beauty — it holds presence. Earrings, especially, are intimate pieces. They touch the skin. They pass through you. And that makes caring for them an act of respect — for yourself and for those you may share with. Is it safe to share earrings with family? Borrowing a piece from a sister or mother can feel like borrowing part of a story. But earrings aren’t like scarves or necklaces — they pass through piercings and can carry bacteria if not properly cleaned. Always ensure both wearers have healthy, irritation-free ears. Clean earrings before and after each use — even if only worn briefly. Prefer studs or hoops with smooth surfaces. Avoid intricate textures that may hold residue. For heirloom pieces passed down generations, we recommend professional cleaning. It honors the memory — and protects the skin. If you love to share, clean with care Earrings are one of the most high-contact jewelry pieces. If you choose to share, make cleaning part of the ritual: Wipe with a soft, clean cloth after every wear. Use warm water with mild soap for gentle cleaning. For deeper sanitation, use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide (avoid on gold and pearls). A final whisper Some pieces are made to be shared. Others, to stay uniquely yours. If you feel called to keep them close, that too is a form of care. "Your light is unique. Your jewelry can be too." – Maison Tierry ✨ Want to care for your earrings like they deserve?
